The last day, I was there was sunny and took some pictures of the house, and introduced Bella to the lake. She wasn't so sure about the water, but loved laying on the dock in the sunshine.

First Week Home
The first week I got to be home not working, was spent primarily in Olympia babysitting my Brother David. Mom went to Vermont to be with Melissa after Nigel's birth, and Dad was working. David doesn't need much babysitting, but just needed rides to places and food prepared. He is such a great kid, and I am very proud of the choices he has made, and the example he is to me.

Welcoming Nigel
Since I don't have my own children to write about, I love to write about the children that I love most. My Nieces and Nephews. We have 9 on the Lybbert side and now 6 nephews on the Poe side. Some of them are close (within an hour or so) and some are so far away (east coast). I miss those that far away, and cherish every moment I get to spend with them.
Last Thursday, we welcomed a new little nephew into this world. Nigel Samuel Blake. Because he is one that so far away, I have not had to opportunity to meet him yet, but I have seen pictures and he is just adorable. Fortunately he will become one of the close ones, and I am looking forward to watching him grow up in real life, rather than just through the blogging world. I am so excited to meet the little man in just about a month.
Congratulations Melissa and Sam, and Welcome little Nigel.

Posting Updates
I have updated our blog with a bunch of new posts. Check out all the posts for March and April. The first new one was lasik. With a little more time now, I hope to update it more than once every three months :)
Bella Update
I just though I should give a little update about Bella.
First of all, we were told when we got her that she was 1/2 Maltese, 1/2 Yorkie. After the couple months we have had her, we are sure that were lied to. She looks like a Shih Tzu, but is too small, and too slender. She does shed a little bit, which we are disappointed with, but we still love her. Overall, we know she is a mix of something, and maybe has maltese, yorkie, shih tzu, and more in her.
We took her for her last set of shots last week, and she weighed 5.5 pounds. She is very energetic and loves to play. He favorite games are fetch with a mini tennis ball that we got from Grandma and Grandpa Woodward. She LOVES it. She also likes to wrestle with her stuffed kitties, and chase around a little soccerball that has a string netting on it.

She likes to chew on everything she is not supposed to, especially blankets cords, and PAPER!! If we don't catch her soon enough, we get to pick up lots of little shreds of paper everywhere. She loves walks and her most favorite part of them are the people or other pets encountered on walked. She loves people. She also loves to be outside on a sunny day. She will just lay on our back porch and sun bathe.
We are still working on the potty training. It is hard to break habits such as going potty in the kitchen (where we left her for the last couple months while were at work). She has very few messes not in the kitchen, but that will be a hard one to break. Hopefully now that I am home, she will learn a bit better.
We tried the puppy pads, but she was not fan of using them properly. She more often just shread them to bits (remember the loving paper part?). A destroyed puppy pad is also a paid to clean up because there is dust all over the place. We stopped that and just cleaned up after her.
Overall, we love her to bits, even enough to tolerate the little bit of shedding.

New Chapter
On Friday, a chapter in my life closed and a new one has opened. Last Monday, I was given notice that I was included in further headcount reduction in the Seattle Deloitte office. There were 3 people in total which brings the count to 20 in the last 8 months. They were very helpful in the whole process which helped make the transition a smooth as it could be. I chose to have one week to get everything wrapped up, and Friday was my last day.
Involuntary terminations are typically never welcomed, but it is our attitudes that determine how they will affect us. In my case, the termination was a way for me finally close this chapter of my life, that I maybe should have closed long ago, but never had the courage. Public Accounting has taught me a lot over the past 4.5 years, and helped me grow professionally, but it was never my passion. There are many things that could possibly keep someone in public accounting, some reasons may include the following;
So with that, I am taking this change as an opportunity to remember how to be a wife, grow spiritually, take care of my stressed out husband, and potty train my puppy. I have plans to do the spring cleaning that has been passed by for the last 4 year, and maybe even decorate a little (I already told Melissa she could help!). I am very excited for the change, and the chance to get back in order some of the chaos in our life.
Fortunately, Dusty's job appears to be secure, and he is planning to cut out one of his many activities for next year to really be able to focus on his job. It is now the sole source of income for our family. I do get some severance, and should be eligible for unemployment if needed, so financially, we will be fine. We have also listened to the prophets, and only have our house as debt, and have additional savings, so please do not worry about us financially. We are taking this opportunity to get our lives in order, and then I will figure out what I really want to do and perhaps find a job that makes me smile rather than makes me stressed.

- Potential salary if you become a partner
- Job position titles
- Stay until you can launch into a different career
- flexibility
- time off
- benefits
- any other reason I can't think off

Babysitting Willie
We had the opportunity of watching Willie again. This time for 8 days while Mom & Dad Poe went on a cruise. We were a little nervous considering the hatred Willie has for Bella, and Bella never ending enthusiasm to play with him. The saving grace, which Willie found early was high places. Bella was not yet able to jump up to chase him. The only time they got along was on walks. Willie of course was on a mission to mark everything in the neighborhood, and Bella just happy to be outside.
It didn't take long for Bella to find the infamous mad kitty. Willie's most favorite toy!
At first, Willie pretended to not care, but we could tell he was not pleased, but eventually (about 6 days into the visit), he decided to get protective, and determined that saving Mad Kitty from Bella was more important than avoiding the over-energetic puppy. He would find the prime opportunities where it would be easiest to save Mad Kitty, and safely transport the toy to higher ground. Sometimes he would not get it quite high enough, and Bella would come and grab it off the couch, this processes continued for a while, and then Willie decided enough was enough. He needed to take more of an active role in his protection.

We thought it was pretty amusing.
We wondered if mad kitty was the key, so we attempted to let them fight over sneaky kitty (Bella's version It of the same toy)
It didn't seem to matter. Near the end of the trip, Willie determined it was actually a fun game, and began baiting Bella. His growl also improved from the anger growl to the play growl. I think we needed that long of time with them together to finally see a breakthrough in their relationship.
