Fun with Friends

A little over a week ago, we were invited over to our friends house for some treats and visiting.  Maria and her husband moved into our ward a few months ago, and she is expecting her first baby about 7 weeks ahead of me.  It was her birthday, and we went to celebrate.  When we got there, we found that Cara, another fairly new member in our ward, who is also expecting her first about 3-4 weeks behind me and her husband were there.  We also found out Kathryn, another member in our ward who lives in my complex was also expecting #2 3-4 weeks behind also (this was news to us because she waited the longest to tell), and there to visit.

It was super fun to visit and talk about all the upcoming babies.  We are very excited to have a baby amongst friends, and are already looking forward to the next time we can get together

Bella's Cave

This evening, Dusty was watching TV, and called me to come see what Bella had done.  She took the blanket that was on Dusty's lap, and made a little cave for herself between the chair and the abdomen.   She would go get a toy and take it back to her cave where she could relax.  We thought it was too funny, and just had to take a few pictures.

15 Weeks and Counting

Today, marks 15 weeks of pregnancy. Last Tuesday, Dusty and I got to have another Dr. appt., and hear the baby's heartbeat. This was Dusty's first time hearing the heartbeat, and apparently it wasn't climactic enough for him. After the appt., all he said was "that is it?" I replied "Yep." We celebrated the appointment with a dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory and had a good chat about everything.

It is amazing how comforting it is hearing a little heart beating at 144 beats per minute. We told our primary class today, after a whole year of answering their questions of "Why don't you guys have kids?" They were all very excited.

I am feeling well, but still tired. I have heard that my energy is supposed to return now that I am in my second trimester, but I am beginning to think that everyone is just lying trying to make me feel better. I have a few pairs of pants that are a little too tight, but I think I just look fat rather than starting to look pregnant. I guess I have to wait a little longer to start showing

Wedding Bells

Last night, we got the opportunity to attend the wedding for our friends Peter and Nicole. It was a beautiful wedding and a fun reception. We got the opportunity to see some of our friends Jeremy and Immer, and Justin and Nicolette. (Peter is Nicolette's brother).

During the wedding, a couple of things struck me. Firstly, how inexperienced I am with regular weddings. I found I didn't really know what to expect. I believe I have been to more temple sealings, than regular wedding ceremonies. It was a beautiful ceremony, but just different than what I was used to. I am very happy for them and wish them all the best.
Second, it made me reflect back on my own wedding. It was about 6.5 years ago, that I knelt across the alter and was sealed to my loving husband for eternity. I feel so privileged to be married to my best friend, and although we have had our challenges, we have gone through them together, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I am also so grateful for the sealing power, and the knowledge that I will get to be with him and our child for all eternity.

Bella's Haircut

For the past while, Bella's hair has been getting so long, and a little unmanageable. Her ponytail keeps falling out, or looking messing, and she was getting a few mattes on her legs. We contemplated cutting her shorter, but we were a little afraid to try.

I came home one evening, and Dusty had taken the shears to her, and cut her coat to about 1 inch long or so. He got tired, and she got a little uncooperative, so the shoulders and head, and legs had to wait a little. Yesterday, I took the time to finish the job, and did the best I could.

I like the way she looks with one exception. The top of her head looks like a 80's punk rock star. It looks like a cross between a flat top and a mohawk. She just has a lot of hair and it grows funny. In the future, we will probably leave the top a little longer so it will lay down better. It is far from perfect, but not bad.

Capital Football

Once again, my brother David's football team made it into the playoffs. Their first playoff game was against Enumclaw. This was the first time I was actually at a game when he played. He made some great tackles, and I think helped out the team in many occasions. It was great to see Mom and Dad, and my sister and kids. They ended up winning the game by a healthy margin, and this weekend travelled down to Vancouver, WA to play Union. Unfortunately, their season ended on Friday night, but we are very excited to get to go some swim meets in the near future!

David is #3. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of him in the game. We tried all 4th Quarter, but all his action was in the 3rd quarter.

Halloween

This year, our ward hosted our annual Halloween party and trick-or-treat activity. This year, we had a chili cookoff, followed by some fun games for the kids, and trick or treating around the classrooms. We combine the activity with the other ward in our building, so we had a full house.

I teach the 6-7 year class in primary, and have about 8 girls and 1 boy. I was privileged to see a few of my kids all dressed up in their costumes. I think they are all absolutely adorable.

On the actual day of Halloween, we ran a couple errands, enjoyed a meal at Five Guys Burgers, and got home in time to watch a movie and hand out candy. Bella was very interested in meeting the kids at the door. We ended up using the gate so she couldn't run out and lick the trick or treaters. Overall, it was a relaxing fun halloween, and we had a great time.
